Its holidays! (finally), but i feel empty about it. I have been working so hard during the exams that right now, i feel out of place by having nothing much to do. Everyday is all about running family errands and clearing daily tasks. Well none the less, darling was nice enough to accompany when i had nothing to do. We spent most of our time doing window shopping and eating. HAHA!

During the weekend after my papers, my family and i went to genting for a short getaway. I got to drive the car up all the way (including those winding roads uphill) and i hit 180 on the speedometer! Its nothing to be proud about but it was Uber dangerous.

The 4 of us (dad mum jie trey) were in the casino most of the times. When i was younger, my parents would give up casino to accompany us while my relatives enjoyed themselves in the midst of gambling. This time, its payback time for us to give up on the themeparks to join them. Not bad for a first timer, i won more than 1.7K RM just by playing roulette. I spent all the winnings on clothes, food and treating my family to a movie.

I had quite a good time so far. How about you guys, my classmates? Doing good and enjoying yourselves too, i hope! =]

Today is probably the first time i brought all my notes for ASAS2. Partly i figured that P.Liang was going to give out tips, i also felt that it was the last lesson so i decided to apreciate the lesson more. The lecture turned out to be a quiet and solemn one which i felt kind of awkward. Nothing else to comment on it, usual people doing usual stuffs, except this time everyone's gone more serious.

Speaking of "usual people doing usual stuffs", i thought of which something unrelated to class yet applicable in life. This probably happens in a "guy's" world instead of "girl's" one, but its good to let everyone know.

Here's how it goes... In order make himself better for whatever reason under whatever circumstance, a male would put another male down in order to "alpha" himself. Sad for me, i have to witness such scenerios all the time. A male would bad-mouth/talk-bad about other males just to make himself feel superior/ atas. Sometimes i wonder, is it due to the lack of social security? or just plain sore loser?

So, have you ever observed the people around and noticed a similar pattern? Well, one way of putting up with him is to agree to what he says. Give agreememnt and acknowledgememnt and give him the atas feel he wanted. once he is done, he scoffs. One way to defend yourself is to cut him down on whatever limited amount of knowledge you have of him, even if it's not relevant. He'll feel uncomfortable and his body language will show it. He might even change the conversation topic at a bizarre which you can eventually make a good laugh out of it. There are many other ways to diss the person, go learn and it will be an useful lifeskill.

Okay, back to the topic. After the "last lecture", i had to rush to CMPB for my NS medical screening. My appointment was supposed to be at 9am but i was still in NP at 1pm. A pity that i could not spend more time with my classmates as they are a fun bunch of people. I reached CMPB around 1.30pm with my X-ray films. i had my photographs taken, blood drawn, urine tested, teeth checked, eyes checked, ears tested, X-rayed, height+weight+Blood pressure measured, balls checked and lastly brain tested. I had PES A for all the stations that could be measured for and labelled "mild obese". -_-! Well, after reviewing the Xray films i brought for a bad knee injury, the MO decided to down my PES to C2L2. The whole process was straight forward yet time consuming. Darling was being really nice by initiating to accompany me. Thank god it did not happen or else i will definately feel bad for making her wait 4 hours.

Anw, it's 1 am and its raining outside my window, what a delightful surprize. i enjoy rainy nights for the cooling factor.

2 months since i left a trace at this blog and most of my wanted-to-pen-down-thoughts have been lost in space. Many things happened and sad to say, most were made up of the "downs" which school work probably played the biggest part in it, but nonetheless im glad i survived till today.

This year's LNY is really special for my family because it is probably the first time we experienced so much cohesion. Our celebration is quite simple yet so heart warming. In the eve of LNY, my mum cook a lot of food and prepared the things for a traditional LNY custom. Dad and i would travel down to "si ma lu" to get "tou zhu xiang" at midnight. My sis and i would stay up till morning to "shou ye".

shou ye - staying up the whole night as a symbol to wish one's parents good health

well of course, my sis and i were allowed to wake up late. when i woke up, i was greeted with alot of food LITERALLY! my mum prepared many traditional chinese dishes and desserts. We visited our grandmother later on and then spent the night together watching a movie. This is the best LNY "da nian chu yi" i ever had with my family so far. =]

i think i whine too much.

i was writing on how boring and tedious the SAP system was.
and Mr Chee (my LO) wrote back to me and said:

"The SAP is system is a useful system. When you apply for a job in future, and you say that you are familiar with SAP, the employer may be quite impressed. So quickly learn as much as you can."

the next moment i found myself chionging all the SAP assignments.

its been like5 hours that i've been sitting on this damn chair staring at this damn screen.
the past week's work is all on data entry and i'm going bonkers!
work seems never ending at the moment and its all repetitive.

It's LUNCH TIME!
I'm finally making the effort to blog during lunch time, taking a break from facebook.
HAH!

My weekend was spent bedridden as i was feeling really tired and sick. I feel bad for "nua-ing" my weekends away, despite having so many things to do. What's worst? i still feel tired now.

My morning of the new week was kick started by the snacks in the office. I feel fortunate to be here as there are food/snacks all the time. I have colleagues who likes to travel and a few from hong kong and Malaysia. The best thing is, they like to bring food here to share. So, i had a piece of "lao po bing" all the way from HK and Belgian chocolates that are authentic. :)

But speaking of work, it is terrible!
I shouldn’t rub into it further. :(

I saw Germ’s sick ride on some BMW forum and I’m envious! An old car looks so new with all the CF trimmings. I think the 2.5K @ Robson was worth it. Furthermore, his SC is really sick. Hitting 120 is no difficult task at gear 3.

Well well, I wanted to patronize Robson too. However, I dropped that idea as mine is a Nippon ride and the interior will still be “lok kok” no matter how I try to make it better. I’m chipping the red riding hood soon and hope the stalling problem will be resolved.

Looking forward to tomorrow evening as I will be meeting dear Junie for dinner :) It’s been some time since we last met and I feel kinda guilty for taking time off to sleep, instead of meeting her.

Finally, I decide to kill some time each day by blogging.

Work is more or less the same each day. Where I got instructions from the engineers to print opsheets in the morning, then distribute them down to the inspectors. After which I come back to check on which engine I should be chasing after for its compressor vanes and prepare official documents for it in order to be allowed to touch them. One steel vane is about 1.2K and I got 800 of them to take care of for each engine. After which is lunch and then grab documents to the big shots upstairs for their signatures. After all these work, I get to roam around in my dustcoat in the shopfloor, mainly to find people to talk to.

One thing I might not like about the work is that every single day is more or less repetitive except the times I get ad-hoc tasks to do.

However, few good things are I got quite a lot of stuffs to do each day as well as having the liberty to talk to anyone! Be it people upstairs or down. Not forgetting the no-restrictions-roaming.

And for today, I got do what an engineer does; that is to prepare work requirements. It’s as good as preparing a piece of paper with the endorsement of the big shots upstairs, telling the people downstairs to follow my instructions. Other than that, I got time to drink coffee eat chocolate and blog ;)

None the less, it can be quite boring at work.

its been 2 days since i started by internship at saesl (singapore aero engines services ltd). its pronounced as "say-zer" by the way. and trip there took around 2 hours and another 30 minutes more back.

in short, my days consist of 9.5 hrs of work, 5.5 hrs of travelling 8 hrs of slp and 1 hr of personal time.

so i decided to drive.
driving to work takes 20 mins and 45mins back.
i save more than 4 hours!

i spent this morning at terminal 3 eating breakfast when i reached changi @ 620am.

my first day of work is pretty simple. all i did was some touring around, reading of the trent 800 and 900 engine manuals as well as staring into space.
yea its really that simple and how 9hrs of time spent like that.

my second day, which is today, is good =]
i learnt alot, i walked alot, i asked alot, i see alot, and i got a whole lot to do.

tomorrow i shall wear jumpsuit to work, along with safety boots =]

i have long forgotten how a sounding sleep feels like. been really REALLY R-E-A-L-L-Y busy with work, cny, personal matters etc. take a break now is a big NO-NO for me as i still have loads of work to do. thank god i survived all that have happened. i still need the courage to brave though 2 more weeks of exams and project datelines.

basically its a manual engine, fitted with a transmission ECU, hydraulic power unit and actuator.
when i press the UP button, signals are sent to the transmission ECU, and that ECU sends signals to the hydraulics. The hydraulics then sends power to the actuator, which disengages the clutch to change into a higher gear.

in short, manual ride with clutch controlled by the computer.

being man, we are often exposed to disadvantages that we find them simply unfair. i would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to 2 simple phrases.

"being taken advantage of can be a form of benefit"
"fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me"

why being taken advantage of is considered a benefit?
the common misconception of "being taken advantage of " often relates to &*^%, revenge etc.
well, "BTAO"-ed, as long as not to a severe degree, is actually another way of showing a better direction to our future route.

please do not laugh at the example that im showing next..

EXAMPLE,
u got tripped by a rock; u got BTAO-ed.
lesson learnt, avoid to walk rocky roads.
BTAO = rock trips u
BENEFIT = lesson learnt, began to ponder and reflect, avoid next time.

i believe that the second phrase needs no further explanation.

being "open" is actually a chinese translation of "kuan1 kuo4" (wide).
i personally take every mistake/ BTAO as a valuable lesson. lesson learnt doesnt make u a skeptical person; it simply raise your awareness of such possible situations.

BTAO doesnt mean that u are STUPID/DUMB/*thesaurus*, it is you being "open" and allow other ppl to do it (if its harmless). you can be aware of it, and still allows it to happen =]
if you do not understand what have i been talking about OR you do not understand above point raised, u can ask me personally. i will be glad to explain.

probability of u not being able to understand = u are not a guy.

harping and picking on others' languages/weak points/weaknesses, perhaps money as well, would make u a very "small" person ( chinese direct translation). in another words, being TOO skeptical or "ANAL" makes u a rather pathetic and petty person.

if that is the case, i have 3 words for you!...
that's "AWWW, poor thing..."

hmm, seems like blogging and typing on the keyboard is my favourite thing to do whenever im doing online revision/work/ studying.

ive been reading up on bending stress and bending moments articles from other institutions and they still dont make any sense to me. im so stuck at my etutorials! :(

currently, life's been really boring! but i got more time to study, isnt it good?

whenever i got the drive to blog, it tends to become lesser and lesser... AND WOALA! "........i'll blog another day........"

and then come the "day", erm... i forgot what is it that i want to blog about.

hmmm hmmm...

anyway, i consider myself extremely lucky for the past 3 semesters, that i did not fail a single module.. but i failed a number of them in common tests. various reasons i supposed.

i would like to share a personal recount, from someone close to me.

she was a BS (business studies) student in the same school a few years back. she only attended 4 semsters due to a completion of A levels. she was extremely active in her CCA and earned 200 - 300 cca points in a year... in which she secured a CCA gold award and had 4 pages long of achievements in her leaving cert.

FYI : in the older days, students can try to get as much cca points as they want. but only the top 10 % of the students with the most cca points get the GOLD AWARD.

the drawback was her results.

her highest grades in "year2" was a C.
she gave up her cca in "year3" and scored mostly As and Bs.
she managed to achieve a GPA of 2.9 upon graduation...

although i seriously have no idea how to handle the matter and i dont know if i did the right thing, im stuck in this world and i had to do it.
BTW, this world im in is bloody realistic.
they try to deny and wont admit.

Rubik's cube

to me, a typical rubik's is something im inclined to. not only it can be used to kill time, applies to many people, it serves as something meaning to me in particular.
in the initial stage when i solved the cube for the first time, plain satisfaction was what i felt.soon, whenever i miss/ think of junie, i would solve it once.i found myself solving the cube more than 50 times per day, during that period of time.since then, solving a 3x3 cube was what i fond of doing.

as of now, i look at the cube again, while lazing in my favourite spot in the room, i began to feel envious.

there are many ways to solve a rubik's cube. many many different methods and alternatives, and u get the same result. for me, i always choose a standard/specific method ( call me stupid/stubborn/whatever) i might be walking through life the rigid and hard way. im not creative and sometimes i hated risks. i cant turn myself into someone else who is capable of being quick witted and decisive.

i wished life can be as simple as a rubik's cube, whereby it is simple to solve using a specific way (for my case). see, simple and precise, nothing's going wrong as long as u are careful with ure steps.

but... NOOO..
life is nv that simple......

so..
i need an utopia.
